AUGUST: At Home Natural Dye Kits

In August we started exploring solar dyeing. In the studio we created several solar dye baths exploring the colors of plants in Salem- buckthorn leaves, buckthorn berry, golden rod, butterfly bush, oak bark, alder cones and many iterations adding iron water to the dye bath to see how the colors shifted due to the chemical changes. We created at home dye kits- featuring dye stuff, mordanted fabric, and instructions- so people could take the experiments and dye process to the their own backyard.
