Natural Dye Workshop Series

I am so excited to share that starting in November I will be facilitating a natural dye series in my home town thanks to the generous sponsorship of Gloucester 400+ πŸ’«πŸ‚ This workshop series will be an easy to follow introduction to some of the basic techniques of natural dyeing: immersion dyeing, bundle dyeing, and eco printing. We will be using botanical materials collected from Cape Ann to experiment and create our colors! The goal of this series is to honor the wild and generous ecosystem that grows around us on the Northshore. I hope that together we can experiment and explore with the natural colors from our backyard.

Due to the high interest in these courses, registration is highly suggested. You will notice that the courses do repeat- so if you cannot make a date, perhaps another date will work better for you. Below I’ve listed some frequently asked questions. But please feel free to reach out if your question is not listed, or you’d like more information.

Finally, the thing that I am most excited about (beyond playing with eco arts) is creating a collective quilt together! Participants are invited to share some of the natural dyed fabric they’ve made during the course so that together we can stick our pieces to make a quilt representing our community ecosystem!

Can’t wait to see what we make together! Hope to see you there!
